Wandering Women is a small group of friendly gay women, taking fortnightly walks in the lovely Hertfordshire countryside and occasionally beyond into Cambridgshire and Bedfordshire. Every walk has a different leader and this means we get to see all pockets of countryside.
They are country walks and the pace is relaxed. The walks are on Sunday mornings and average 5 miles with breaks for refreshments and to have our packed lunch.
Walks ALWAYS end with a well deserved drink in the nearest pub!
It’s a very healthy and relaxed way to meet some ‘like minded’ people and new walkers are always warmly welcomed.

YIPPEE we are walking again!
Sunday 25th April
This is the bluebell walk hopefully.
We will meet outside the Red Lion pub in Great Offley, the address is Great Walden Road, Great Offley, Hitchin SG5 3DZ. You can park along the road near the pub.
The walk is along footpaths through fields and beside the bluebell woods. It begins gently uphill then descends more steeply to the road, about half a mile of which we walk along, hopefully quiet. We ascend the other side of the woods and have extensive views over Hertfordshire. About 5 miles in all. Well behaved dogs are welcome (I will be bringing mine, generally well behaved…) but must be kept on lead through sheep meadows, especially as there are lambs. Also along the stretch of road.
Bring refreshments and lunch, we will stop usually about an hour after setting off and again for lunch in a suitable spot. Pop into the woods if you need a bush to go behind.
Arrive 10.15 for a 10.30 start. We will walk in groups of 6. We will call into the pub for a drink at the finish.
